Thường thì gpa trong đại học cao nhất là 4.0
Trong trung học thì điểm cũng là 4.0, nhưng nếu lấy lớp advance thì được 5.0 cho điểm A của lớp đó. Nếu như bé nào đó rất giỏi và lấy toàn lớp AP từ lớp 9 đến lớp 12 và make A toàn bộ thì được 5.0 gpa. Vậy sao bé này có được tới 5.6 gpa?

Theo hiểu biết nông cạn của mình thì trong trung học có một số môn bắt buộc phải lấy như là thể thao chẳng hạn. Và những lớp đó không có trong chương trình AP. Vì vậy cái điểm 5.0 gpa cũng là bất khả thi.

Honors courses are weighted on a 5.0 scale and AP ( advanced placement) and college courses are weighted on a 6.0 scale. If you never took higher level course in high school it may not be common knowledge.

Lần đầu tiên mình nghe 6.0 scale. Con mình, cháu mình cũng học AP và IB courses. Có mấy cháu cũng ra trường valedictorian. Điểm của tụi nó cũng vẫn dưới 5 points thôi.

Mới ăn cơm xong giờ rảnh nên tìm hiểu cái trường south broward thì biết cái trường đó xếp hạng gần đáy bảng của Fl, chớ nói gì đến top hs hoặc college prep hs. Anyhoo.. càng tìm hiểu thì càng rối.
