People in Laredo, Texas, could be fined up to $1,000 if they don't wear a mask or a bandana to cover their face during the coronavirus pandemic


Anyone over the age of five years old who walks around Laredo, Texas, without their mouth and nose covered could now be fined up to $1,000.
The move, brought into effect on April 2, is an attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus in the small Texas town, despite the financial burden such a fine could have on locals, and the fact that masks are not the most effective way to prevent the spread of the virus.
"I'd rather bury them in debt than bury them in a coffin," councilman George Altgelt told the Morning Times.
Residents can use anything to cover their faces, the Laredo Morning Times reported, whether it's a mask, bandana, scarf, or any fabric they have available, although there's no evidence a bandana or a scarf would be effective. They must use it when entering a building, public transit, or an outdoor gas station.
The directive is controversial: the World Health Organization is still advising the general public not to buy masks to wear, given the global shortage of masks, which are needed by healthcare workers, who are most exposed to the virus.

Phạt $1000 thì hơi nặng, but I think they have to do anything to slow this pandemic unfortunately.  Good thing that they ONLY enforce this for the people entering a building, public transit or gas station

Giờ mới thấy mấy bà đạo hồi là lợi hại, ra đường ko sợ bị phạt. :Giggling:

Chắc phải đi mua cái hijab về quấn. Vừa fashion, vừa che được, chớ ai đội cái quần kỳ quá. Mà giờ chắc mấy cái hijab này out of stock luôn rồi quá.

Meiji nói chơi thôi, chứ nếu cần Meiji lấy khăn quàng mỏng mỏng ra đường quàng xong vô chợ kéo kên che miệng che mũi lại là được mà. Hihi

Mình giỏi lắm á nhe. 3 tuần nay mình ko ra đường đó.

Mây thì vẫn đi làm, chiều về thì dắt Ki đi vòng vòng quanh xóm ... gym đóng cửa cả tháng mà nó vẫn charge mình tiền membership á, hồi phải dispute với credit card mới được .

Thương cho mấy người phải đi làm. Biết là sợ đó, nhưng phải ráng thôi. Còn hơn mấy người có hãng xưởng bị đóng cửa ở nhà mất việc.

Bạn của Meiji làm cho Macys, làm lớn đó nhe chớ ko phải là bán hàng đâu, mà giờ bị furlough luôn. Rầu quá tròi. Meiji nói thôi coi như dịp là dịp được nghỉ ngơi ỏ nhà với con. Cái đáng sợ là ko biết bị ở nhà tới lúc nào.
